Let us start our lesson saying some prayers and continue to work on memorizing the prayer "Blessed is the Spot."
In order to be a true friend to others we need to be able to practice forgiveness. It is wonderful to listen to the stories of `Abdu’l-Bahá who always practised forgiveness. He said we should see with the eyes of forgiveness and not look at one another’s faults. One way we can be more forgiving is through laughter. We can learn to laugh at our own mistakes and realize that mistakes help us learn about ourselves and others. When others make mistakes we can forgive them allowing our friendship to grow stronger.
Let's use the interactive Word Games Page to learn the meaning of the words in the quote and help with memorizing it.
A Story of Love and Forgiveness
Must be printed in booklet format.
"Let your adorning be forgiveness and mercy and that which cheereth the hearts."
Print and cut out each paper bead. Color the beads if you like.
Punch hole in each end.
String the quote onto yarn and tie into a necklace.
Tell the children to walk around randomly, while clapping and saying, “people to people”. When you call out “back to back”, they should stop, and each back up to a partner. On your signal, they start to move around again, clapping and saying “people to people”. When you call out “face to face”, they stop and each face a partner, bowing heads. The game continues in this way, with these two commands being repeated several times. Other commands can include “knee to knee” and “elbow to elbow”.
