We will begin each class with prayers to ask God to bless our time together and to help us grow our spiritual super powers.
What is prayer?
Prayer is talking to God. It is asking Him for assistance when we need help, thanking Him for the wonderful things He has already given us and asking for guidance when we feel unsure. Prayer is also about listening to God. Sometimes we talk too much about what we want and fail to listen to what God is telling us. What would you like to talk to God about?
Why do we pray?
God already knows what is going to happen, He has already gone before us. But He wants us to talk to Him because He wants a relationship with us. Think about your best friend. If you never talked with them, hung out with them or even looked at them, are they really your best friend? No. God wants to be our best friend. He wants us to talk with Him and tell Him our worries, our fears, and even funny things that happen to us. We can talk to God about everything!
Here’s what we know about prayer
God wants us to know Him. He created us for a relationship with Him. He wants to be our best friend!
God really does answer prayer. God in His sovereignty chooses to use our prayers to accomplish His purposes, His will. So, God has ordained that certain things would happen in response to our prayer. Basically what we’re asking in prayer matters! This is so cool and should cause us to pray without ceasing or stopping!
God loves us through prayer. We get to know God through prayer and He loves us through it. We feel closer to Him and that means we feel His love even greater.
We love God through prayer. When we worship God through prayer, we tell Him we love Him. We thank Him for everything He has done.
When can we pray?
The answer: Any time or anywhere! Even if we can't say a prayer out loud, we can always say a silent prayer.
What can we pray for?
Anything. We can praise God, we can thank God, or we can ask for help for ourselves and others. These are just some of the things you can talk to God about.
This is the prayer we are going to work on memorizing for the next few lessons.

Let's use the interactive Word Games Page to learn the meaning of the words in the quote and help with memorizing it.
Our hearts are like MIRRORS. We should always keep them clean. Hate, jealousy, and negative thoughts are like dust that stops the mirror from shining. When our hearts are pure, they reflect the light of God, and we become a cause of happiness to others. When our hearts are pure, they reflect the light of God and we become a cause of happiness to others. Every day we can polish our mirrors through prayer, good thoughts and service to others. Let us make a paper flower mirrror to remind us of all the spiritual qualities, like love, kindness and joy that we can reflect towards others every day.

This is a really fun game to get you Be-Boppin!
Print off all 10 sheets for the game.
Place them outside at stations in a circle.
Cue up the Ruhi song "Lesson 1 My First Counsel."
Everyone starts the game at "O Son of Spirit" station.
One person starts the song and when you hear the words everyone runs to that station.
Tie sticks to the children’s arms so they cannot bend their elbows, and then tell them to pretend that they are walking in a desert and are very, very thirsty. When they come upon water in cups, they have to find a way to drink it. They will discover that the only way is to help each other, being careful not to get each other wet.
