We will begin each class with prayers to ask God to bless our time together and to help us grow our spiritual super powers.
Prayer is talking to God. It is asking Him for assistance when we need help, thanking Him for the wonderful things He has already given us and asking for guidance when we feel unsure. Prayer is also about listening to God. Sometimes we talk too much about what we want and fail to listen to what God is telling us. What would you like to talk to God about?
Prayer is talking to God. It is asking Him for assistance when we need help, thanking Him for the wonderful things He has already given us, and asking for guidance when we feel unsure.
Prayer is also about listening to God. Sometimes we spend so much time talking about what we want that we forget to listen quietly for what God may be teaching us.
Ask the children:
What would you like to talk to God about?
He created us to have a relationship with Him. He wants to be our closest Friend.
God, in His wisdom, chooses to use our prayers to accomplish His purposes. Our prayers matter, and He invites us to pray often.
As we spend time in prayer, we come to know God better and feel His love more deeply.
When we pray, we worship God, thank Him for His blessings, and express our love and gratitude.
Anytime and anywhere! Even if we cannot say a prayer out loud, we can always say a silent prayer in our hearts.
Anything that is good and pleasing to God. We can praise Him, thank Him, ask for guidance, pray for ourselves, our families, our friends, and anyone who needs help or comfort.
The prayer that we are going to work on memorizing for the next few lessons is:
"O God, guide me, protect me, make of me a shining lamp and a brilliant star. Thou art the Mighty and the Powerful."
— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
These printable prayer cards can be used to help children learn and memorize the prayer. One card can be colored as a creative activity, while the other can be printed, laminated, and used as a reusable reminder during prayer and memorization practice.
Coloring Prayer Card
Children can color this prayer card as a creative activity while becoming familiar with the words of the prayer.
Laminate Prayer Card
This prayer card can be printed, laminated, and used regularly during class as children practice memorizing the prayer.
Let's use the interactive Word Games Page to learn the meaning of the words in the quote and help with memorizing it.
A beautiful reminder: Just as sunlight passes through a window and brightens a room, our kindness and good deeds can bring light and happiness to others.
Clear Elmer’s glue
A clean yogurt container lid
Decorative gems (available at dollar stores)
A piece of string for hanging
A plate
Place the decorative gems inside the yogurt container lid, arranging them in any pattern you like.
Slowly pour clear Elmer’s glue over the gems until they are about halfway covered. Be careful not to completely fill the lid.
Leave the project to dry for about three days. The glue will become clear and firm as it dries.
Once the top feels dry, gently loosen the edges of the dried glue and carefully remove the sun catcher from the lid.
If the underside is still wet, place the sun catcher on a plate and allow it to continue drying. Flip it over carefully so both sides can dry completely.
When the glue is fully hardened, make a small hole near the edge of the sun catcher.
Thread a piece of string through the hole and tie it securely.
Hang your sparkling creation in a sunny window and watch the light shine through the colourful gems!
Our hearts are like MIRRORS. We should always keep them clean. Hate, jealousy, and negative thoughts are like dust that stops the mirror from shining. When our hearts are pure, they reflect the light of God, and we become a cause of happiness to others. When our hearts are pure, they reflect the light of God and we become a cause of happiness to others. Every day we can polish our mirrors through prayer, good thoughts and service to others. Let us make a paper flower mirrror to remind us of all the spiritual qualities, like love, kindness and joy that we can reflect towards others every day.

You can use a skewer to carve the words onto the cookies or make icing and decorate them using a piping bag.
So yummy cookies to make and what is even better is to give them away to friends. You will surely put a smile on their face! This is a great game for young children to match the letter with the word.

Through creative activities and reflection, children can discover ways to let their own light shine and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Download and print these activities to use during the lesson.
This is a really fun game to get you Be-Boppin!
Print off all 10 sheets for the game.
Place them outside at stations in a circle.
Cue up the Ruhi song "Lesson 1 My First Counsel."
Everyone starts the game at "O Son of Spirit" station.
One person starts the song and when you hear the words everyone runs to that station.
Tie sticks to the children’s arms so they cannot bend their elbows, and then tell them to pretend that they are walking in a desert and are very, very thirsty. When they come upon water in cups, they have to find a way to drink it. They will discover that the only way is to help each other, being careful not to get each other wet.
