Unity Garden Activity 🌸

Create a beautiful Unity Garden using different kinds of paper flowers.

“A garden is beautiful because it has many different flowers. Some flowers are big, some are small, and they come in many colors and shapes. Each flower is special, and together they make a wonderful garden. People are like flowers in a garden. We are all different and special, but when we love, help, and care for one another, we create unity.”

Materials:

• Colored paper or construction paper

• Scissors

• Glue

• Crayons or markers

• A large sheet of paper for the garden background

Activity:

1. Give each child paper to create their own flower. They can make different types of flowers such as:

   • A flower with round petals

   • A flower with pointed petals

   • A flower with heart-shaped petals

   • A flower with many small petals

2. Encourage children to make each flower unique, just like every person is unique.

3. On each flower, write or draw one way to show unity:

   • Helping others

   • Sharing

   • Being kind

   • Including others

   • Listening

   • Forgiving

   • Working together

4. Add all the flowers to a large paper garden. Children can add stems, leaves, sunshine, clouds, butterflies, or other decorations.

5. When the garden is finished, discuss how every flower adds beauty to the garden.

Say: “Just as every flower helps make our garden beautiful, every person is important. When we work together and care for one another, we create unity.”

Unity Game: Building Together 

Purpose:
To help children understand that unity means working together, including everyone, and using our different strengths to create something beautiful.

Materials:

• Building blocks, LEGO, puzzle pieces, or paper shapes

• A basket or container

• Unity action cards (optional)

Preparation:

Place all the pieces in a basket. Explain that the pieces are like people — each one is different, but every piece is needed to create something wonderful.

How to Play:

1. Tell the children:

“Today we are going to build something together. Each piece is special, but we need all the pieces working together to complete our creation. This is like unity — when we work together, we can do amazing things.”

2. Have each child choose a piece and add it to the creation.

3. As each child adds a piece, they say one way they can show unity.

Examples:

• “I can help others.”

• “I can share.”

• “I can be kind.”

• “I can include others.”

• “I can listen.”

4. Continue until the group creation is complete.

Discussion:

Ask:

• “Could we make our creation without everyone’s pieces?”

• “How did working together help us?”

• “How can we create unity with our family and friends?”
